John N. Evans, President of the Vermont Technology Council, also serves as Senior Advisor to the President of the University of Vermont.

John joined the University of Vermont in 1976 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics in the College of Medicine.

He served as Executive Dean of the College from 1992 through 2003 and as Dean from 2003-2006.

He is secretary/treasurer for the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies, a high technology business incubator located on the campus of the University of Vermont, and serves as a board member for a number of organizations.

Dr. Evans is a 1970 graduate of Clark University in Worcester, MA and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1976.
